Has Science Gone Soft?

TinyMinds aims to make scientists our children’s heroes.

Professor Brian Cox is doing more to promote science in popular culture than any other living scientist, according to Rue Turner of TinyMinds. Past images of our scientific geniuses have been of bearded, grey-haired men in Open University green and yellow tanktops. But Professor Cox changed all that with his brilliant Wonders of the Solar System, Wonders of the Universe and now Wonders of Life series on BBC. His simple explanations of complex theories, enthusiasm and child-like amazement at the physical world, have brought science to a mass audience in a way that has never been achieved before.

Today, TinyMinds launches its Science Superheroes series of soft toys with a figure of the former rock-star scientist. The Science Superheroes are designed to make scientists approachable and fun for kids. Professor Cox is in good company. Charles Darwin and Marie Curie will be made available in the series soon, and TinyMinds is asking its customers to vote on which of our great scientists should be next.

TinyMinds is not associated with the BBC or Professor Brian Cox.

About TinyMinds

TinyMinds aims to promote science, and scientists, to children by making them aware of our greatest scientists and their achievements. In this way, TinyMinds hopes to encourage kids to see science as fun and accessible, and scientists as the heroes that they truly are given their contribution to how we live today.
